Message from the Principal
Aanii students and parents of Wikwemikong High School! On behalf of our dedicated staff, welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.
Our school is committed to engaging your child in learning that will prepare them for their next step in their educational or workplace journey. We strive to incorporate Anishinaabe world views throughout the curriculum and provide additional opportunities to engage in Anishinaabe culture and language daily. Our provincial Literacy success rates are trending upwards, and our provincial Math success rates, are on par with the province and significantly better than other schools in our region. We have a vibrant athletic program, a burgeoning robotics program and an engaging arts program. We have invested time and energy into incorporating technology in our learning spaces and are getting very close to a ratio of one device for every student. We also spend time on a weekly basis dialoguing and discussing with students their next steps, particularly with the “My Blueprint” program.
In conclusion, it is an honour for us at Wikwemikong High School to serve and educate your children. We hope to be not only a part of their present success, but we also recognize we want to build the foundation for their future success. Thank you for entrusting us with the opportunity to educate your children within the beautiful community of Wikwemikong.
